May I present you with the May edition of A Sentence A Day in the life of Janetti Spaghetti!
We continue to be relatively untouched by the Covid outbreak here in Brisbane, as you will see by how much we have been out and about this month …
May – It’s a long weekend due to the Labour Day public holiday on Monday – and it’s also our wedding anniversary on the 5th – so we went away in the motorhome, and stayed on a cattle farm about an hour and a half away. Check out the magnificent sunset!
May – Although our motorhome has a camping hot water system, shower and toilet, it’s very cramped, so the husbear has purchased a pop up shower tent which is much more roomy. We love taking a hot shower together so this was a real treat!
May – All too soon it was time to say goodbye to the cows, and head back home.
May – I was making date balls and my food processor gave up the ghost – it was a wedding present, and as our 31st anniversary is tomorrow so it did pretty well to last that long!
May – I had an early meeting over breakfast; then after work, my Bear and I went to our favourite Thai restaurant for dinner to celebrate our anniversary.
May – Started a new jigsaw puzzle.
May – It was the husbear’s RDO so we popped out at lunch time to buy a new food processor. Wonder if this one will last 30 years?!
May – Oh happy day! The neighbours with the extremely annoying yappy little dog that has woken us at 6.15am with his frenzied barking (even though we don’t need to get up til 7am) for the last eighteen months, have moved out!!!! In other news – finally found a pair of tan boots to replace my old ones, which fell apart last winter.
May – A lovely Mother’s Day … chocolate overload!
May – Feeling very blah. A combination of Monday-itis and coming down from yesterday’s sugar high perhaps?
May – Finished my magical unicorn puzzle!
May – Our boy’s 27th birthday but we won’t see him til the weekend. A big storm swept through in the late afternoon, it was dark as night before 5pm!
May – The husbear had a very bad day. He missed out on a job that he was hoping to get; then h finished work early specifically to buy something at a particular store, but had to wait (and was totally ignored) while the one sales assistant helped another customer – my Bear gave up after nearly half an hour so it was a wasted trip. To cheer himself up, he stopped at a convenience store to buy a packet of Twisties (his favourite treat) – and then the car wouldn’t start. Unfortunately he was in a pretty unsavoury neighbourhood, and his phone was very nearly flat – so he messaged me and I rang to get the breakdown service out to him. Then to top it all off, just before bed he trod on a random piece of glass (no idea where it came from) and his foot was bleeding everywhere!
May – Friday night flicks – we watched a movie on Netflix.
May – To celebrate Mr 27’s birthday we all went to a paint and sip session which was an awesome night out. Amazing how we all painted the same thing, but they all turned out to be very different!
May – The first really cold night of the season, so I put the big blanket on our bed. So snuggly!
May – The highlight of my day was getting a bowel scan kit in the mail. Can it be two years already since the last one?!
May – The husbear argued that we should pop into the op shop at lunch time – one of the benefits of working from home 2 days a week. I came home with a cute spotty jumper and this top!
May – I wrapped up two big projects for work today. Whew!
May – A trip to the other side of town to give a presentation about SEO for a lunchtime business network.
May – My regular Tuesday PT session was moved to today (Friday). A bit of boxing today!
May – All the kids came over and we played catch out on the street – one of the joys of living in a quiet cul-de-sac.
May – Snapped this pic of Miss Fleur “su-purr-vising” me as I made the bed.
May – My Bear and I went for a brisk walk to start our Monday morning.
May – The husbear and I enjoyed sitting in the sun outside to eat our lunch. I love the days he works from home!
May – We watched the lunar eclipse, I tried to take photos on my phone but they were pretty lame.
May – My fortnightly mastermind group, where we heard from an expert in email marketing – I got so many great ideas, now just to find the time to put them into practice!
May – Went for a morning walk, how beautiful is this hibiscus that I spotted along the way?
May – In the evening we sat round the brazier (our son was over) and toasted marshmallows.
May – Lunch with my parents, Miss 24 and her man, at a cute Italian restaurant.
May – I applied for a business grant today, having worked on my application over the weekend I was able to lodge it first thing. Just as well – the grants opened at 9.30am and by 1pm they closed the round as they’d already received 3000 applications! Fingers crossed …
Tell me – which one is your favourite pic and/or story from this month’s edition of A Sentence A Day?!
