Ah February … a month filled with family, food, fun, fashion, floods, Fleur and the occasional FFS!
February – The husbear is still away, he’s been staying with his mum who is poorly. Meanwhile I had a crazy busy day at work – the phone didn’t stop!
February – Such a hot and humid day! I reckon February is always the worst of the summer months. The kitties looked hot and miserable too so I gave them each a treat – a little bit of milk for Seth (I know it’s not great for cats but he loves it so, and I only give him a little bit every now and then), and some fresh grass for Fleur to nibble on. For dinner I turned to good ol’ comfort food for myself, and made steak and chips.
February – The husbear arrived home about 7pm, so happy to have him home!
February – The photo below is proof that I went to pilates in the morning before work!
February – I went clothes shopping and despite my frustrations with fashion, found a couple of things to bring home.
February – Sunday sleep in 🙂 .
February – The husbear and I did a grocery shop after work, there are still lots of gaps on the shelves due to supply chain problems. It really is a case of making do with what’s there rather than having a set list of things to buy!
February – Off to the dentist for a checkup, not my favourite thing to do but good to know everything looks fine!
February – After work I mowed the front yard. I know. How exciting is my life?!
February – One of the benefits of working from home is being able to make my own lunch. Today I had a baked potato with bacon, onion, capsicum, zucchini and sour cream. Nom nom nom!
February – At pilates this morning I somehow managed to hurt my neck, will have to be more careful in future.
February – Miss 25 and I went to a painting class and created our very own works of art (although my neck was still very stiff and sore).
February – The kids all came over to hang out, we watched a movie and then went outside to play on the scooter the husbear picked up at the op shop recently. Lots of fun!
February – It may not be the most romantic gift, but I know that the husbear absolutely loved the new memory foam pillow I gave him for Valentine’s Day (I got one a few weeks’ ago and he kept pinching it, he liked it so much!).
February – Ever since the painting workshop on Saturday, I have been itching to paint, though I haven’t had a chance to do anything about it. Made chilli con carne for dinner.
February – The husbear and I went for dinner at the local pub. Maybe it was a belated Valentine’s Dinner?! Nah, we just didn’t feel like cooking!
February – I always get so much out of my fortnightly business coaching group! It’s amazing how much we learn and inspire each other. Our meetings are held in an office on Raby Bay Harbour with a gorgeous outlook, couldn’t resist a photo on such a gorgeous day!
February – Sorry guys, I didn’t write anything down! Bad blogger.
February – We went out for (a very belated birthday) dinner with my parents at Cafe Marinara at Hawthorne, an Italian restaurant so authentic all the wait staff seem to be Italian! Brisbane is such a small town – bumped into one of my lovely clients and had a quick chat.
February – A rare day of rest and recreation in the middle of our very busy lives – we went for a long walk along the waterfront. The tide was way out so we were able to explore rock pools and beds of sea grass that are normally underwater, where we saw this starfish!
February – Tonight we headed out for a quick sushi dinner.
February – Look at this, I got a screenshot of my computer at 2.22pm on 22.2.22! I picked up Fleur for a cuddle and her claws got caught on my shirt – an old favourite that has worn very thin – and ripped holes in it. Guess I won’t be wearing that shirt anymore …
February – The husbear did a grocery shop, and managed to get most things on the list despite shelves still being a bit light on. He bought a tin on pineapple because it was on my list but it was … wait for it … $4.40! I know prices are going up but that is just ridiculous!!!
February – Doing a happy dance, I signed up two new clients 🙂 .
February – And then the rains came … wow. We were meant to drive up to Toowoomba after work, to spend the weekend with my M-I-L, but the weather was so bad we decided to wait til morning …
February – Yep, not going anywhere. This rain is crazy and many areas are flooding. We spent a lazy day watching movies with the kitties. They look like they’re plotting together in the pic below … or about to fight over the last cat bikkie on the plate in front of them!
February – The rain is relentless, I estimate we’ve had over 500 mm in the last couple of days. We are fortunate to live high on a hill but it’s still worrying, and we are horrified by the flooding we are seeing on TV. This is the view from our deck, as the rain continued to pour throughout the night.
February – It looks like the husbear will be working from home for a while, the carpark and ground floor of his office building flooded – and guess where all the electricals are based?! Although it does look like the raining is finally easing, check out this gorgeous rainbow!
Between the flooding and the war in Ukraine, and my M-I-L’s poor health, February ended on a bit of a sombre note – just as we are heading into the Ides of March …
