Health issues loomed large in February, but we still made time to catch up with our kidults, as well as to do a few of our favourite things …
February – Had a meeting with one of our clients, and I thought for sure they were going to can us – instead, they want more! And … here’s a pic of Seth.
February – On Thursdays, the husbear works from home … and he made dinner. I love it when he cooks, because he makes things I can’t be bothered with – like breadcrumbed steak (tonight’s dinner), and rissoles!
February – The date has been set for my breast biopsy – 14 February. Not really the way I wanted to spend Valentine’s Day, but in this silly selfie I’m showing that I’m ok with it!
February – Spent the morning at my gorgeous girl’s house, playing with the dog, cats and chooks 🙂 . We also made these yummy brownies with a peanut butter drizzle on top. Miss 26 is so creative, I would never think to do that! And check out the amazing sunset taken from my front yard.
February – The husbear took our Christmas tree down; in the evening we went to a lovely Thai restaurant for dinner with my folks, to celebrate my birthday (nearly a month ago now – time flies when you’re having fun!).
February – Watched Married at First Sight while eating a salad for dinner and the husbear took a sneaky pic. (I wasn’t going to watch it this season but the husbear got me hooked!)
February – I run an online membership program where I teach business owners to do their own SEO … this morning was our monthly informal DIY SEO Chat.
February – One of our cars was in being serviced and husbear needed the other one, so he dropped me off at my BNI meeting this morning. Getting home involved getting a lift from another member to the nearest station, catching the train to Cleveland, then a bus, then a walk to get home. Now that’s commitment!!!
February – Went to a “housewarming” party with a difference – one of the other members in my fortnightly mastermind group, has made the massive step of moving her business out of her garage, and into commercial premises! So exciting to celebrate her success with other members.
February – Finished my latest puzzle.
February – Enjoyed a lovely massage – pics taken as I was waiting, I got there a bit early – before we headed to our island getaway for the night.
February – Snapped this pic of Coochiemudlo Island on the ferry as we headed back home.
February – With my little procedure tomorrow, I’m planning to take the rest of the week off – so I might have worked til midnight to try and tie up loose ends …
February – A day in hospital, which you can read about in my previous post, “The Results are In“.
February – Very happy to be home! The husbear surprised me with a jam and cream donut, nom nom nom. I sat in the backyard and relaxed while he planted a couple of trees after work … we will shortly have a retirement village being built on the acreage where the sheep used to be, and want to screen the area so we still have some privacy.
February – Not feeling so great today – I have “text neck” from playing on my phone too much yesterday! Got a parcel delivered which helped lift my spirits, a book I’ve been wanting to read for quite some time – “Cat Daddy” by Jackson Galaxy. (Edited to add: I didn’t love it. Was more about his battles with addiction than with cats! 🙁 )
February – I was feeling a bit under the weather again today, but was very glad to (eventually) get the good news from my specialist that the pathology had come back all clear. (The results hadn’t arrived when I had my appointment so I had to wait around in the coffee shop for an hour or so).
February – Still feeling unwell, but desperate to get out of the house, so we popped into the local op shop for a browse and grabbed a mocha fusion on the way home.
February – Started the jigsaw puzzle of Paris which my folks gave me for my birthday. (Would love to go there and see it for myself one day!).
February – Back to work today. Luckily I work from home, so at least I knew if it all got too much I could have a snooze – but I lasted all day, much to my surprise!
February – Today I crashed after lunch for a nap, so still not 100% but feeling better every day.
February – Started the day bright and early with a networking meeting at 6.45am.
February – Attended an online networking session after work,
February – My bottom left wisdom tooth / jaw area has been sore the last couple of days; with the weekend looming I thought I’d better get the dentist to check it out. They didn’t really pinpoint the problem – perhaps an infection in the flap of gum covering most of the tooth (it’s partially impacted).
February – The husbear headed up to Toowoomba to finish clearing out his parents’ home. Did I mention it’s under contract – good news indeed! I stayed home and did some cleaning and washing and noticed we had a lot of flies inside. No idea where they’ve come from though I searched high and low …
February – Had a lovely lunch at Manly Harbour Boat Club with our son and his wife, and her parents. Only a year or so ago we saw our kids pretty much every weekend … not anymore, now we have to book our catch-ups weeks in advance! They really have grown up and are leading their own lives now. I’m happy for them, but I miss them too!
February – The husbear had a rare day off to take care of some things – he brought me home an Easter egg for a treat. My first for 2023!
February – Devastated to get a phone call from somebody – they’ve just been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
A tough way to end the month. Makes you think about the things that really matter in life, and to be grateful for every new day … even Mondays …
What was the highlight of your February?!

I’m so glad you’re procedure turned out well, and so sorry for whomever got the cancer diagnosis. That sure makes us appreciate good health.
