Halfway through 2023 already … how did THAT happen?! Is it just me or are the weeks going faster than ever?!
Lucky I have my Sentence A Day Habit or it would all just be a blur! So, here’s what I got up to in June …
June – I feel like a new woman, I had my hair done! A trim and foils, first time since before our son’s wedding – so over 6 months’ ago now. As you can see, it desperately needed a trim …
June – Lost two clients today – one is putting their business on hold due to ill health (have I mentioned that cancer sucks?), and one was a pushback to the coming price rise on 1 July (not unexpected), but it was a bit of a blow to lose two at once.
June – Seth loves snoozing and sunbaking, how cute is he?! Such a shame he and Fleur don’t get along!
June – Fleur and I started binge watching #GirlBoss on Netflix yesterday, and finished the series today … clearly it was a quiet weekend!
June – Not only did the dishwashing tablet not dissolve in the latest load – I got zapped trying to remove it! At first I thought it might have been an electrical fault but it turned out to be static electricity from my slippers.
June – Great session chatting online with the members of my DIY SEO group; normally we meet up at 10am but today we caught up at 7.30pm instead. I was pretty wired afterwards and it was ages before I felt ready for bed, then I couldn’t sleep … not ideal when I have to get up at 5am to go to my BNI meeting the next day!
June – The screen on my laptop (which is only 18 month old!) wasn’t turning on, so after BNI I had to take it in (luckily I paid extra for the extended warranty). They were able to fix it straight away, something to do with the flux charge?!
June – Had a lovely cuddle with Seth out on the deck, then he laid in between us. He is a much cuddlier cat than Miss Fleur, just a shame he sprays EVERYWHERE – once he even backed up to my leg while I was in the garden and started squirting. Needless to say I was NOT impressed!
June – These days I usually either straighten my hair, or wear it up. Today I let it dry au naturel … it’s a bit fluffy!
June – Had a lovely day shopping with my girl 🙂 … she takes the best selfies!
June – Super Cheap Auto was having a sale so I bought the husbear’s birthday present (over a month early, but still!). He is very excited to be getting a Mig welder.
June – We solved the mystery of the big paw prints, quite by chance 😉 .
June –
June – After BNI I had a lovely breakfast with one of our newest members. Oh, and I might have volunteered to look after my Chapter’s Facebook account (you can check it out here).
June – I love it when the husbear works from home and we have a cuppa in the backyard.
June – This is the view when I am working at my desk – Miss Fleur loves playing out on the deck!
June – A special celebration for my Dad’s 80th.
June – The husbear and I headed over to our weekender on Coochiemudlo Island, just for the day. We have a friend staying for a week from the 24th so wanted to make sure it was tidy. It was absolutely glorious weather, we might have only been there for the day but it felt like a real holiday!
June – I had a blood test; in the evening we made some cupcakes.
June – After dinner we had a sundae from Macca’s as a special treat. I normally prefer the caramel, but hey, chocolate is always good!
June – Seems the flu is going around, quite a few people missing from BNI this morning. I sent Miss 26 a quick selfie!!!
June – In the evening I went to an informal catchup for Women’s Network Australia, at Cedar and Pine Bar in Wynnum.
June – Nawwww our girl gave us a Kit Kat so we had to send her a selfie of us scoffing it!
June – We went to the op shop where I bought two lovely tops, then had fish and chips for lunch down at Cleveland Point – there were so many boats out on the bay, not surprising as the weather was just beautiful!
June – Did some yard work, then spent lots of time just relaxing in the winter sunshine (my blood test showed my Vitamin D was a bit low!). I made a roast chicken for dinner.
June – Had a doctor’s appointment, then in the afternoon I visited my Dad. He is in respite for a couple of weeks, so I had to do a Covid test (negative as you can see!) and wear a face mask. He wasn’t too sure who I was at first, probably because of the mask 🙁 .
June – Watched some great clips on Youtube from a British comedy show called “Mock of the Week”, where six comedians take turns coming up with witty one liners in response to a prompt such as “Things You Wouldn’t Hear at an Oscars Ceremony”. We laughed ourselves silly!
June – Took a photo of the winner of the Golden Mike (best 1 minute presentation) this week at BNI – gotta have something to post on the Facebook account!
June –
June – End of financial year. I was feeling a bit disappointed that my income hadn’t gone up this year, but then somebody reminded me of what a challenging few months it’s been and I realised that it’s pretty darn amazing that I managed to keep my business at the same level! After all, over the 22/23 financial year, my mother-in-law passed away, I got Covid, then had a cancer scare with a lump in my breast which ended up requiring surgery in February; just as I was recovering from that, my team member Lisa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had to quit suddenly, passing away in March just 3 weeks later. All I can say is I hope that the 23/24 financial year is kinder!
So that’s it from me … would love to hear about the highlights and lowlights of your June 2023!
