Once again I’m running late with my monthly ramble but I think you’ll understand why as you read further.
November was NOT VERY NICE at all, although things started off well …
November – A very successful trip to the op shop where I was pleased to pick up a book, 2 jigsaw puzzles and 2 skirts. Score!!!
November – Made a decent start on one of the new puzzles.

November – Monday and Fleur is ready for work!

November – This was our nod to the “race that stops the nation”, the Melbourne Cup – we both wore a fascinator and posed for this silly selfie!

November – An informal catch up for brekkie at the Three Little Birds cafe today with my BNI crew.

November – Finished my puzzle already!

November –
November – Headed into South Brisbane where we inspected a couple of apartments, stopped for coffee, and I was thrilled to discover a couple of fairy doors! I’m just a big kid at heart!

November – Uh oh, I’ve got a nasty sore throat and a temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius AFTER taking paracetamol. Despite this I managed a few rounds of my old school arcade computer games and got a new high score! (Signs of a mis-spent youth perhaps?!)

November – Feeling terrible so I crashed on the crouch for most of the day.

November – Sick and now one of my ears is completely blocked up, making me very hard of hearing.
November – Off to the doctor, had a swab done to see if we can work out what bug has brought me so low. I came home with a swag of medication.

November – Really sick still and hating that my ear is blocked. The worst part isn’t that I can’t hear very well – it’s that I’m hearing weird things like rushing/gurgling water which the husbear can’t hear! Perhaps it’s my own blood pumping in my head?! The pathology came back and I’m negative for Covid, RSV, influenza A and B, whooping cough, and a couple of other things. So why am I so sick?!

November – Still miserable with fever, sore throat, sore ear, aches and pains. The husbear brought home a funny gift recipe book to cheer me up and it definitely made me laugh – but laughing leads to coughing, ugh.

November – Day 473 of being sick. Or at least that’s what it feels like.
November – The highlight of my day while I’m feeling so poorly – watching Big Brother. Fleur is a fan also 😉 .

November – Finished my antibiotics and I’m still sick, plus now I have sore and swollen glands under my arms and in my groin as well as in my neck.
November – Back to the doctor for more medication and a blood test, we’re both wondering if it could be glandular fever. I did a bit of work – the downside of running your own business is that you can’t totally ignore it when you’re sick! I’m hosting a free webinar on Thursday but had to make the call to cancel it, as it’s highly unlikely I will be well enough.

November – Well, it’s not glandular fever, it’s bacterial but we’re not really sure what’s causing it. The doctor asked me if I’d had any sores or wounds recently but I couldn’t think of anything. Oh and my brain has turned to mush, I cooked an omelette for breakfast and accidentally left the stove on. Lucky I didn’t burn the house down!

November – The husbear has done a wonderful job of cooking while I’ve been sick, tonight I managed to have a simple Indonesian Beef casserole ready when he got home from work.

November – Still sick, Nurse Fleur is looking worried. I’ve been thinking about how my doctor asked me if I’d had a sore or something that this nasty infection might have stemmed from and I realised – I’ve had a chronic dental fistula (Google it), which I haven’t really paid any attention to (but then nor has my dentist) for at least 5 years now. Could that be the culprit?!

November – Same story, different day. Ugh. Have I mentioned that I am SO. OVER. IT.
November – Woke up to thunder and lightning this morning, then another storm rolled through in the evening including pea-sized hail which you can see on our front doormat.

November – Darn spring storms! This afternoon’s squall brought golf-ball sized hail. Oh, and I managed to do a bit of work at my desk.

November – Lots of storm activity again but at least they weren’t as severe today.

November – Still unwell though not quite as bad, plus the ear blockage continues. The husbear bought me some new PJs to help cheer me up (because that’s all I’ve worn for the last couple of weeks of being ill). These Christmas kitties are too cute to only wear in the festive season!

November – Back to the doctor and shared my theory about the dental fistula, then I had a cone beam dental scan done. More antibiotics.

November – FINALLY we have a diagnosis; my infection is due to an endodontic cyst. There’s an impacted wisdom tooth buried in my jaw bone that has a pocket of infection around it, which is why I’ve had the dental fistula. My body has been fighting the infection for years and now it’s just wiped out which is why I’ve been so sick. I’m seeing a specialist next week … pretty sure that tooth has to go.
November – I’m starting to have the odd moment where I almost feel like myself, so today I went to the library. Loving the festive poincianas in bloom!

November – Whoops I overdid it, I was totally wiped out again today. Started my 5th course of antibiotics!
And now here we are mid-way through December and I’m still not fully well though at about 90%. If I overdo things my throat and head aches start up again; and my ear is still blocked. Thankfully my awesome team member Shaheeda has been able to hold the fort in my enforced absence from work.
Chances are I won’t recover fully until this rotten tooth is removed (surgery is booked for early February).
Needless to say I haven’t really gotten into the Christmas spirit this year, we haven’t even put our tree up 🙁 .
It’s really not how I wanted to end the year … I hope your November was a lot nicer than mine!
