Welcome to my notes from November, a month that included a lot of rain, storms, a week’s holiday, some happy news, and our first preparations for the looming holiday season …
November – The husbear had a mate over for dinner, afterwards we watched a new release on Netflix, “The Plane”.
November – Seems to be the weekend for Netflix! Today we watched “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”.
November – Sunday crafternoon! We were both working on projects – I did a bit of painting, while the husbear was fixing some upholstery for the seats in our motorhome (which we will be selling soon). Looks like we both took a sneaky photo of the other hard at work!
November – Nawww poor Fleur, she has the Monday morning feels!
November – Apparently there was some horse race in Melbourne?! The husbear had a little flutter on a horse called “Warp Speed” mainly because of the name – we are big Star Trek (Next Generation) fans – and it came in second!
November – The specialist phoned through the results of my biopsy. The good news? It’s not breast cancer. The bad news? It’s abnormal cells that need to go … I’m booked in for a lumpectomy on 3 December.
November – I’ve been putting together a video clip to go with an AI generated song for my business, it’s a bit of fun …
November – More work on that video clip! Perhaps I should quit the day job and do this instead?!
November – The husbear and I headed over to our island getaway for a week of R&R. Delighted to see our resident curlews with their baby who is almost fully grown now!
November – I finished the jigsaw I’ve been working on every time we visit – it was extra challenging, 1500 instead of 1000 pieces and didn’t really fit on my puzzle board but somehow I managed it. In the afternoon we went for a Sunday drive around the island.
November – Ahhhh island time! Went for a walk down to the jetty where I snapped this selfie. Late in the afternoon we took a thermos down to the beach so we could have a cuppa while watching the sunset – though we didn’t see much, it was quite cloudy.
November – Beach walk and fishing. We caught 2 bream – 1 each – but the husbear’s was undersized so he had to throw it back. Oh, and it looks like Fleur is enjoying our holiday too, she loves being a sticky-beak and seeing what’s happening outside!
November – We actually went back to the mainland for a bit of shopping. Back on the island, we’d planned to go fishing at high tide (husbear says the best time to go is after the tide turns) but a storm rolled in.
November – A BBQ and a visit from a friendly kookaburra, before another storm hit.
November – Windy and overcast but we still enjoyed a late afternoon beach walk.
November – Headed back home again, only to find the TV in the family room has died, potentially during the storms last week.
November – I started a new puzzle.
November – Back to work, lots to catch up on. Rain.
November – Rain.
November – Rain … and some VERY happy news … my brother and his partner of 10 years are engaged!!!! Congratulations guys 🙂
November – And more rain! I finished this pretty rainbow cottage puzzle.
November – Guess what. More rain! The weather wasn’t great while we were on holidays last week but at least it wasn’t as bad as this week!
November – Nice to see the sun again! I started my Christmas shopping with a trip to Carindale, good excuse to wear my Christmas earrings … there were some good sales even though Black Friday is not til the 29th.
November – Still feeling in the mood for Christmas shopping so I visited the Cleveland markets, before taking our quilt to the laundromat. Felt surprisingly motivated when I got home so I cleaned out my shoes, books, and jigsaws and got several bags ready to donate.
November – In the evening we watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, including this classic quote from Data: “Geordi, I cannot stun my cat” – HAHAHAHA there are times we’d like to exactly that!
November – Seems I’m not the only one with a flair for words! The husbear wrote the ad for our red BMW which is now advertised on carsales.com.au … see what you think:
Selling ‘Ruby’ our garage queen. Very smooth and surprisingly nimble, with acceleration and braking up with the big boys as one would expect with 600nm of torque, twin turbo V8, 275 front and 315 x 20in tyres. Full service history including recent service in October 2024 incl new front brake rotors, cabin and engine filters, 4 tyres are virtually new and timing chain was replaced at 100,000km. RWC is dated 20/11/24 and transferable registration is to 13/9/2025. Paddle shift blips on downshifts in sport mode according to Youtube. This 4.4L twin turbo V8 and drivetrain is an immensely strong combination and this engine was used in high end BMWs right up to 2023. Price when new was $146,900. This regal colour turns heads, as does the deep exhaust note. Interior comfort is amazing, quiet, cold 4 zone a/c, electric seat adjustments and all other features you’d expect from a high-end German marque. We have priced Ruby at the cheapest end of the market to gain a quick sale …
November – The last month or so my hands / wrists have been quite painful again (I have arthritis), looks like the PRP treatment has worn off. I’ve decided to try a couple of other treatments before going back for more injections, so today I had some acupuncture and moxibustion done.
November – Don’t know if it was related to the acupuncture, but last night I had the BEST sleep I’ve had in ages!
November – Made a couple of videos for my Front Page SEO socials. I took a photo of my computer keyboard but I have no idea WHY?!!! PS note the Fleur fur …
November – Feeling very motivated again (who even am I?!)! Got stuck into some cleaning, vacuuming, mopping and washing. Donated the bags I packed up last weekend, and checked out the new Salvos and Lifeline stores in Cleveland. Came home with a gorgeous top and a new jigsaw puzzle (of course!) – and a mocha crème fusion from Zaraffas as my reward for a good day’s work!
Looking back over the month, I’ve heard that when the kookaburras laugh then rain is on the way … and that certainly proved to be the case for us in November! Lots of kookaburras laughing while we were on Coochie and the next week it rained heaps!
Have you ever heard that kookaburras are great weather forecasters?!
PS A special treat for you – here’s the music video I was working on – “Get your Google On” 😉 . The auto-captions aren’t very good, AI still has some way to go!
