I’ve got a funny story to tell you about “July” …
When I was a little girl I didn’t like my name, “Janet”, so when I was in about grade 3 or 4, I told everyone I was changing my name to “Julie”. I wrote it on all my school books and other belongings. Only problem was, I didn’t know how to spell “Julie” and wrote “July” on everything. It was a while before I lived that one down!
For my northern hemisphere friends, July is mid-winter for us although living in a sub tropical climate, we whinge when the temperature falls below 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees F) – so not that cold really in the scheme of things!
July – Winter tends to bring the most beautiful sunsets, and today was no different – but what’s unusual is this picture is of the eastern horizon, so just the reflection!

July – A chilly morning and early start for BNI so I’m all rugged up. At least the toys on our bed were warm and cosy!

July –
July – A great way to end the working week, drinks with my BNI business buddies.

July – Caught up with a friend for lunch at Hog’s Breath Cafe. Curly fries FTW!

July – A quiet Sunday at home.
July – Saw a book on Facebook last week, that one of my old bloggy buddies wrote, so I had to order a copy … and it arrived today. Absolutely loving it already!

July – Finished my latest puzzle (which I started on 29 June).

July – I watched a really interesting show on TV, “Eating Smart” with The Glucose Goddess. It was fascinating and packed with helpful tips for people like me, trying to manage / reduce their blood sugar levels – long term readers will know my doctor put me on a high protein, low carb diet about 18 months ago and I have successfully avoided diabetes 🙂 .
July – We made the most of the full moon with a BBQ dinner out on our deck.
July – Busy day at work, I’m already feeling the pressure to get everything done before going on a comedy cruise on the 26th …
July – I’ve been making do with an old, squeaky office chair for months – so today we went shopping and bought a new one that’s built for ergonomic comfort – and no squeaks!

July – We spent the day on Coochiemudlo Island, we got the barge over … then the ferry on the way home.

July – What a treat to go to work and sit in my lovely new chair. Fleur was much more impressed with the box it came in!

July – Chinese takeaway for dinner.
July – I still battle hay fever occasionally, and today was one of those days. It made me so miserable I was in bed by 8.30pm 🙁 .
July – Had a wonderful phone call today – a client rang to say “thank you”, as they are now coming up #1 in Google for their main keyword!!!!
July – We had a thunderstorm roll through around dinner time, most unusual for this time of year.
July – Happy birthday to the husbear! We had a lovely day catching up with family, my parents for afternoon tea, and dinner with our son and his wife.

July – I started a new puzzle.
July – More puzzling after work.
July – Ouch! Managed to get a blister on my thumb when I was doing my hair. The straightener was falling off my dressing table and I made the mistake of grabbing it, and of course it was extremely hot.

July – A checkup, clean and polish with my favourite dentist 🙂 .

July – A friend and I attended the Common Grounds Women in Business networking event. Love the pic she took of me afterwards 🙂 .

July – I noticed a lump on Seth’s ear while I was cuddling him – it was a paralysis tick! We pulled it out and put it in a glass, there wasn’t any blood, it must have literally just attached. Seth is a very lucky boy, he didn’t suffer any ill effects.

July – Woooohoooo set sail on a comedy cruise! The weather was terrible so we took our seasickness tablets. I should probably do a whole separate post about it, I have so many photos and memories to share …

July – The weather was better today. We played bingo for the first time ever (didn’t win anything, LOL), then went to a comedy workshop and enjoyed a couple of stand up comedy gigs.

July – I *might* have entered the comedy gong show and come away with a prize!!!!

July – Back home again, unpacking and washing. The kitties were very glad to see us even though our son visited and fed them while we were gone.

July – I’m taking the rest of the week off work, so today I headed out to the shops for a bit of retail therapy, coming home with three t-shirts and a sleeveless dress. Yes, I know it’s winter but I rarely wear long sleeves as I often over heat, I find I need to wear layers these days as my body temperature fluctuates. Plus I’ve reached the stage of life where if I find something that fits, is flattering, and in a good colour I buy it!

July – Quiet day at home, feels so weird not to be at my desk working on a week day! Check out the gorgeous clouds that formed in the afternoon …

Needless to say, July was a very cool month in all senses of the word!!!
