February just FLEW past here in the land of Spaghetti …
Be warned – there are lots of critters in this post, from the cute and cuddly, to native wildlife like possums and green tree frogs, and the not-so-lovely lawn grubs (ugh).
February – Attended a social media workshop and got lots of great ideas to pass on to my social media manager.
February – Fleur and I ushered in the weekend by slobbing out on the couch and watching a bit of Better Homes and Gardens.
February – A friend and I went to a vision board workshop – I’ve wanted to do one for over a year so was glad to finally have the opportunity! Afterwards we went out for lunch.
February – Bought a gorgeous new leather bag which I can wear strapped over my body. Sometimes I just need a bag that is light and easy to wear, that has just enough room for glasses, phone and keys – this one is perfect! In the evening we watched a movie on Netflix, “Late Night” starring Emma Thomson, we absolutely loved it.
February – Monday so back at my desk, completing monthly reports for my clients.
February – Picked up my stepmother after she had a small medical procedure and stayed for dinner with her and my dad. We heard a noise on the deck and went out to see a brushtail possum had come to visit!
February – After BNI, I enjoyed breakfast overlooking the city and then had a mammogram and ultrasound done – it’s been one year since I had surgery to remove some suspect tissue in my left breast (LCIS), I now need annual mammograms as it puts me at a higher risk of developing breast cancer. My new ergonomic mouse arrived, hoping it will ease some of the pain I’ve been experiencing.
February – The pergola was heaving with little grubs – gross! We think they might be lawn grubs but don’t know why they are on the pergola, rather than in the lawn.
February – Check out my awesome brekky, courtesy of the husbear! The eggs always end up a devastated mess when I try to do them.
February – Spent the weekend at our island house. Even though it was pouring rain we went for a walk, great time to explore as it was a super low tide.
February – Today was a king tide so more beachcombing! No sea glass unfortunately, only sea plastic – though I did find this compass! We finished up our walk with a coffee at the cafe.
February – Yep, it was definitely lawn grubs. The back lawn is DEAD despite all the rain on Saturday …
February – Our daughter came over for dinner, so I made one of her favourites – tomato flavoured chicken legs from one of the “4 Ingredients” cookbooks.
February – Valentine’s Day! We worked out it was our 37th V Day together. The husbear gave me some wax taper candles with LED flames (romantic AND practical, LOL), as well as this sandscape; I gave him the new toaster and kettle he’d been wanting for our island house. Oh, and I won the Golden Mike for best 60 second presentation at our BNI meeting!
February – One year and one day since my breast surgery so it was back to the specialist for a checkup – all smiles as I got the all clear.
We didn’t go out for Valentine’s Day, so we had date night today instead – we went to the movies and saw “Argylle” which we really enjoyed. It was an action / spy movie to suit the husbear’s tastes, with a novelist and her cat as the main characters (which kept me interested, LOL!).
February – It bucketed down rain but I still made my way to a networking meeting close to the city, where I made lots of valuable contacts.
February – Miss 27 and I had a tip off on a local beach being a good spot to hunt for sea glassĀ – and finally found some! We followed up our beachcombing with a treat at a cafe overlooking the water.
February – A quiet Sunday at home.
February – A month or so ago, the husbear came across a review of a book that he thought I’d really enjoy … he showed it to me (such a cutie!) and I agreed, and promptly ordered it online. “When Women Were Dragons” arrived today. (I seem to be reading a lot of feminist novels lately!)
February – A visit from a friendly kookaburra.
February – Attended an evening networking event with a friend.
February – Headed into the city to attend an SEO event. Must confess a lot of it went over my head – this was more about SEO strategies for REALLY big businesses with thousands of pages on their websites; not really my thing. Still, good to meet others in the industry and I had my eyes opened to a whole new level in my profession!
February – Another client has pulled the pin. With 3 clients having paused our services in the last few days, I’m not blaming the economy. Instead, I’m choosing to believe that they are opening up the way for even better clients!
February – A lovely weekend at our island getaway, even if it was raining AGAIN. I made a new friend … this little froggy was hanging out on our porch.
February – Beach walk with my Bear.
February – I might sound like a very positive person (see 23 February), but even I get down sometimes. Today was a blue Monday …
February – Now that our daughter has moved into her own apartment, I am moving my office into her former bedroom and the husbear has been busy putting the new desk together.
February – The husbear bought a packet of lawn grub killer / fertiliserĀ … but Miss Fleur treats it as it it’s catnip! She’s been going crazy sniffing and playing with the pack (it’s sealed, don’t worry) but is pretending to look innocent here …
February – It’s a leap year! We had plans of going out for dinner but alas, the husbear didn’t get home from work til late and we were both so tired we had an early night.
Looking back on the month that was, I can see it was a little slow on the work/business front, but that we had lots of good times even if the rain was quite constant.
What was the highlight of February for you?
