What can I tell you about August?
Well, for one thing, I seem to be getting closer to achieving that ever elusive work-life balance. ‘Bout time too!!!!
We’ve been going out more, enjoying fun times and even trying to up our exercise quotient.
The weather has been gorgeous and incredibly mild for the last month of winter … which kinda makes me panic about the looming summer months! I think it’s gonna be seriously hot, especially given the heatwaves that Europe and the US have been experiencing!
But enough chit-chat, let’s get on to the specifics, shall we?!
August – The ducklings are so darn cute! They’re getting bigger and have transitioned to outside – and they love their new paddling pool!
August – We were surprised with a Facetime from Mr 29 and his wife, as they were sitting in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome!
August – Fleur meets the ducks – she doesn’t look too sure about them!
August – I was pulling out of the driveway, heading to a chiropractor’s appointment, when I spotted this gorgeous rainbow – just had to stop and snap a pic!
August – We met up with a friend for lunch and a walk along the waterfront at Wellington Point.
August – A quiet Sunday at home, I sat on the couch to do some mending which Miss Fleur thought was a great game – she kept wanting to chase the threads!
August –
August – Had a meeting with another business owner at the Lovewell Cafe on the top of Mt Gravatt, which has a great view across Brisbane.
August – Went out for dinner with the gals from my business mastermind group – lots of laughs and some deep sharing. I demolished a pumpkin pizza which was extremely yummy.
August – Red Rooster for dinner.
August – I started a jigsaw puzzle which I picked up from the op shop – it’s of a carnival ride and seemed appropriate as the Brisbane Exhibition (fondly known as the ‘Ekka’) opens tomorrow.
August – Here you go – proof the the husbear does housework! We went for a walk along the waterfront at Raby Bay; in the evening we watched the FIFA World Cup match between the Matildas (Australia) and France – so exciting when the Aussies won! Normally we hate watching sport but this was actually really interesting!
August – Lovely Sunday lunch with friends at South Bank.
August – After work we curled up with a good movie on Netflix – Megan, about a robot that looks astonishingly life like, and becomes a companion for a lonely little girl.
August – My monthly 1 on 1 with my business coach – her office is right on the harbour, such a magical outlook!
August – It was a public holiday for the Ekka, so no BNI meeting this morning. The husbear and I went for a bush walk.
August – The husbear went out for dinner with some mates, which meant *I* got to drive the remote control LOL … I enjoyed a quiet night in watching House Hunters International.
August – Went to the local pub to hear a great Aussie band, The Radiators – they were HUGE in the 80’s and we still often listen to their music. They didn’t disappoint – what a top night!
August – Bit of retail therapy, though it wasn’t really that exciting – I needed a new bra; but I also bought a really cute stripey top.
August – The husbear and I went for a walk and were lucky enough to spot a koala snoozing in a tree. (The secret to spotting a koala in the wild is to look at the ground to see if you can a pile of scat – and if you do, look up, because there’s a koala in the vicinity!)
August – Finished my puzzle – it kept me amused for the duration of the Ekka, which closed yesterday, well timed hey?!
August – The ducklings are now full grown, today they left for their new home. It was sad to see them go as they were a lot of fun – and a great distraction for our daughter who is back living with us – but I’m not gonna lie, they pooped a LOT and needed to be constantly cleaned up after!
August – Great to be back at my BNI meeting bright and early after missing last week due to the public holiday.
August – We’ve been having some gorgeous warm sunny days, hard to believe it’s still winter (though look how dry it is). Miss Fleur kept me company while I had morning tea outside. Oh, and Miss 26 made tacos for dinner.
August – I attended a full day webinar called “Robot Love AI Summit”. Artificial Intelligence is having a massive impact on my field (marketing), it’s important to stay up to date on all the latest.
August – Exercising is never a chore when we are staying on Coochiemudlo Island, we just love going for walks, riding our bikes, getting out and exploring.
August – We went out for dinner with our son and his wife, as they have recently returned from their European holiday. So good to catch up!
August – The unseasonally warm weather continues – we had a little storm in the evening around 10pm, so storm season is here early!
August – Watched The Voice blind auditions on telly before an early night – I have to be up at 5 in the morning for BNI.
August – The husbear made vegetable soup for dinner, which we enjoyed with toast – and not just any toast but MULTI-GRAIN! I’ve always been a strictly white bread only girl, but have made the switch in the interest of health and have surprised myself by actually enjoying it!
August – The outdoors is so inviting in this beautiful weather, outside again for morning tea.
Lots of lovely outings and such in August … and now spring has sprung, and we have plans for more fun in September!
What do you think was the best part of my month?!
