Reading over this post about our doings in November, I realised: I’m pretty darn lucky!
I have a lovely husband and grown kids. We have our own home AND a beach house on an island. I work hard in my own business and love what I do – plus we also get to do lots of fun things. And, we are reaping the rewards after decades of being frugal – we are now at a point in life where money isn’t really a worry anymore.
Folk in the USA celebrate Thanksgiving in November, so consider this my own personal thanksgiving! 😉
1 November – Wow! It was so smoky outside, I couldn’t believe how thick it was. I knew there were bushfires in the Darling Downs a couple of hours’ west of us and thought that was the culprit. Turns out it was a fire in Thornlands (the next suburb)!
2 November – Went to a breakfast network meeting, then met with a potential client.
I sent the pic below to Miss 26 at work and she knew straight away what was for dinner – tomato flavoured chicken legs, her favourite! The recipe is from one of the 4 Ingredients cookbooks and sooo easy.
3 November – The crows and noisy miners were making a heck of a racket out the back – sure enough there was a large carpet snake draped in one of the trees! He had a very full belly so they were making a fuss for nothing. Just so long as he doesn’t come up to our place!
No photo of the snake, however Miss 26 snapped this pic as she couldn’t believe how long my hair is getting 🙂 .
4 November – Mr 29 came over … Considering he used to wear black, black, and more black, I’d say his wife has been a good influence on his fashion choices 😉 . He’s holding the wee crocodile we brought back from Darwin for him (actually an alligator, but … details!).
5 November – We went for a beach walk on Coochiemudlo Island, luckily the rain had stopped. We had dinner at the Beach Bar for dinner before getting the ferry home.
6 November – Started reading “The House of Secrets” by Sarra Manning. Did you know I keep track of all the books I read on Goodreads (you can follow me by clicking on the link)? My goal was to finish 75 books this year … I’ve smashed it already and it’s only November!
7 November – So much for the race that stops a nation (Melbourne Cup) – today I ran a training session for a marketing team based near the City! I even let one of them wear my famous white hat 😉 .
8 November – Met this little cutie …
And, I got my hair done. I am notorious for not booking an appointment until my hair is driving me crazy, and then I usually have to wait a few weeks to actually have something done about it. NO MORE! I pre-booked my next appointment for early next year. For me, this is self-care!
9 November – We had a training session on Tik Tok in my regular fortnightly mastermind group. While I’m not intending to start using Tik Tok anytime soon, it was still interesting to learn more about this platform and the impact it’s had on other social media.
I mailed a small prize to one of the members of my DIY SEO HQ program …
10 November – Friday night and nobody could be bothered cooking so it was pizza for dinner. Oh, and I got today’s Wordle in just 2 attempts – a total fluke (Miss 26 got me into Wordle a couple of months ago, knowing my love of word games).
11 November – Weekend at Coochie! I brought a couple of lovely shells back from Darwin, so today I placed them in a mason jar along with some others that I’ve collected, to create a new ornament for our Coochie house 🙂 .
12 November – Sunday night BBQ at our son and daughter-in-law’s apartment, a lovely way to finish off the weekend.
13 November – This pic of Fleur slobbed out on my desk totally sums up those Monday morning feels 😉 .
14 November – I didn’t sleep very well last night, we might have gorged on some Maltesers after dinner and they gave me terrible heartburn. I have to remember that anything rich, sweet or alcoholic after dinner is NOT a good idea these days!
15 November – Christmas seems very close, the meeting room for BNI this morning is already decorated for the festive season! This is Janet, the president of our chapter … and I’m the vice-president, also called Janet, a tad confusing sometimes!
16 November – The husbear made SBEATF for dinner (Soft Boiled Eggs And Toast Fingers). While most people might think of this as breakfast food, for us it’s comfort food at its best!
17 November – Finished my latest puzzle.
18 November – We went to the Eat Street Markets for dinner with our daughter, being a Saturday night it was really packed. A fellow with a trolley accidentally ran over my foot – ouch!
19 November – We took my Dad out for lunch at the Broncos Football Club. The husbear insisted we have the cheese board as well as our meals, I think it was a case of his eyes being bigger than our bellies … we ended up taking most of it home with us in a container!
20 November – Our daughter’s birthday – she’s now Miss 27! We gave her a cute vintage style bike; and I took the day off work so we could enjoy a mother/daughter shopping trip.
21 November – The bruise is starting to come out on my foot.
And, check this out – a photo of our two kitties on the couch together – a very rare occurrence (usually they fight like cats and dogs LOL).
22 November – Another great start to the day with my BNI chapter meeting 🙂 .
23 November – After work the husbear and I did a spot of shopping.
24 November – Early knock off today for the BNI Christmas party! I scrub up okay, don’t you think?!
25 November – Headed over to our island retreat, and put up the Christmas tree (haven’t put one up at home yet – it’s in the cupboard in Miss 27’s room and too hard to get out!).
26 November – Went to the Coochie Christmas Markets and bought a few bits and pieces, and met a few more of the locals. We’d ordered a new tallboy from Temple and Webster and had brought it with us, so the husbear put it together.
27 November – Monday means back to work, but we were still at Coochiemudlo Island so I worked from there – with a stop at morning tea to go and check out the high tide. This is the life!
28 November – A selfie of me and Fleur back at my desk.
29 November – We might not have put the Christmas tree up at home yet, but we do have icicle lights outside and this wreath on the door. Seth seems to approve!
30 November – I made macaroni cheese (from scratch) for dinner and worked on my latest puzzle.
Good food, great times … so much to be thankful for. I have a heart full of thanksgiving indeed!
What are you thankful for this month?!
