A is for August … and it was a bit of an action-packed August even if I was sick earlier in the month. As you browse you’ll see plenty of adorable animals, appetising food, and getting out and about … also, can you tell I love alliteration?!
August – Got to spend some time with this cutie – this is Lily. Isn’t she just gorgeous? Don’t tell Fleur and Seth but I think my next kitty might be a dog! LOL

August – Oh dear, the husbear is sick with the flu or something similar. That’s what going on a cruise does to ya! So long as I don’t get it …
August – Uh oh, I’ve started sniffling and sneezing ..
August – I was meant to be back at work today but I only lasted a couple of hours as I was feeling dreadful. Luckily Nurse Fleur was on standby.

August – Forget those vignettes of stylish kitchens – this is our kitchen bench at the moment!

August – A pic of my bed socks coz I’m still sick …

August – Back to work, Fleur is glad to have me back at my desk.
August – Headed over to Coochiemudlo Island after work, and had dinner at the Beach Bar.

August – I went for a long beach walk and even spotted a whale spouting off the north-east tip of the island. It’s rare for them to come into Moreton Bay so I felt very spoilt!

August – I’ve watched a couple of shows featuring the Glucose Goddess recently, today I finally got around to make her breakfast cups recipe. Apparently they freeze well but I don’t think mine will last that long, they’re very yummy 😉 !

August – Noticed the full moon out over the deck as I was going upstairs, snapped a pic while Fleur wondered what the attraction was …

August – The things we do to make healthy food more appealing! A spiralled carrot ?

August – The husbear and I went to the Ekka (Royal Queensland Show) for the first time in 11 years!

August – Bit of a storm came through in the afternoon, unusual for this time of year. It’s the middle of winter after all!

August – Miss Fleur strikes again! Can’t leave my desk for a moment!

August – I was watching TV when I heard the whole house creak, then the lounge started swaying beneath me. My first earthquake experience! The epicentre was about 200km from here, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, but people felt it as far north as Cairns and as far south as Sydney. A very strange sensation.
August – The husbear and I went fishing, caught a couple of bream.

August – A friend of the husbear’s was over from Perth for a conference, and came to visit for lunch.
August – My Front Page SEO team caught up for lunch – very exciting as we’d never actually all met in person! Nicola lives in Sydney and had come up for a quick trip with her husband 🙂 .

August – Cloudy skies over the Story Bridge Hotel where my BNI chapter meets. It was my first meeting in 4 weeks due to holidays, being sick, and then the public holiday for the Ekka. So good to be back!

August – Met up with Maria, who also runs a digital marketing agency nearby, for coffee and chat. I don’t often get to “talk shop” so really enjoy our catch ups!

August – Woke up to see a blanket of heavy fog, though it soon lifted. At lunch time I went to the Redlands Chamber of Commerce speed networking event.

August – We’ve had to keep Seth in the cat enclosure as he’d been bothering the neighbours (harassing their cat, and spraying on their car, etc). He’s seemed a bit depressed so the husbear built him some ramps to make his area more fun.

August – I started a new puzzle, of a Japanese garden scene.
August – The husbear is quiet adventurous in the kitchen! Check out this tasty snack he whipped up …

August – We had Chinese takeaway for dinner, look at the lovely message on one of the containers!

August – Guess who was the featured presenter at BNI today?! Yours truly! Also thrilled to have a long time blogging buddy and now client, Robyn from Robyn Wood Photography, come along to hear me speak 🙂 .

August – Went to the Common Grounds Women in Business network this morning, afterwards the weather was so gorgeous I went for a stroll in gorgeous New Farm Park next door.

August – Changed the head on my electric toothbrush – it was high time, how bad does the old brush head look!

August – We had an early Father’s Day lunch for my Dad, as he is having surgery to remove 4 teeth on Thursday and most likely won’t be up to celebrating next Sunday.

August – Went to Carindale for some retail therapy today and came home with … nothing; nada; NOT A THING. In fact I didn’t even try anything on! I just didn’t see anything that really appealed to me. Guess I’m really missing Katies, Rockmans, Rivers, Millers etc that closed earlier this year! Snapped a pic as I ate some lunch outside, just to prove I was actually there!

And that’s a wrap on August 2025 … how can it be SEPTEMBER already?!!!
