Do you mind if I talk about work in this post?
Fact is, I could really do with your help!
My business, Front Page SEO, is about to launch a new service/product and I’m struggling to come up with a ‘sexy’ name for it.
But first, some background …
For the uninitiated, I’m an SEO specialist. In English? That means I ‘work my magic’ on websites so that they come up on the ‘front page’ of Google search results (hence the name, Front Page SEO).
The end result for businesses? More clicks to their website, meaning more customers or clients, and more cashflow.
As you can imagine, SEO is a vital ingredient in the marketing mix of any business these days, and even more so since Covid-19. Business owners may not really understand what SEO is, or how it works, but most of them realise that without it they are missing out.
Trouble is, the SEO industry has developed a less than stellar reputation, due to many operators taking advantage of the ‘mystery’ that tends to shroud SEO.
What my clients tell me they love about Front Page SEO, is that we are genuine, transparent and accountable. We are the ‘good guys’ (so I wear a white hat!). We take the mystery out of the process, help them to understand what we are doing on behalf of their business, and get them results!
BUT.
SEO takes a lot of time and effort, and the reality is it’s out of the price range of many startups, sole traders and other small business owners.
This is where our new offering comes in!
The working title is the DIY SEO Workroom. I know, not very sexy right?!
For a small fee each month, business owners will be given step-by-step expert guidance to build their own SEO.
During a live Zoom session each month I will unpack one of the important elements of SEO, with plenty of tools and tips, before assigning specific tasks. If members are conscientious in completing all the tasks set, over the next few months they should begin to see the effect on their bottom line: A dramatic increase in the number of clicks, calls, customers and conversions!
Zoom sessions will be recorded for those not able to join live, and there will be a private Facebook group where members can ask questions, swap ideas, encourage each other, and report on how their ‘homework’ for the month is progressing.
It’s not a course, in that business owners will be able to join at any time as there will be an introductory module to get them up to speed on the basics, before diving into the nitty gritty of the monthly sessions.
Whew!
As a trained teacher with a love for my topic, I’m really excited to be able to pass on my knowledge in this way to the business owners, who previously would have been missing out on all this SEO goodness.
And that’s where you come in. What on earth should I call it?! (Heck, I even struggled with what title to give this blog post!)

Firstly I hope you’ve spoken to Courtney about this – she does something similar with her pricing programme, and will have heaps of wisdom.
You and I should have coffee and chat about how to market something that potential customers don’t know they need!
Now, names. You could play off the abbreviations thing: “SEO DIY and other important letters”, or “SEO Lost and Found” or “SEO Renovation (Is your SEO a Fixer-Upper?)”…I’ll keep thinking…

Hey Sally! Thank you so much for the tip to chat to Courtney – I’ll check out what she’s doing. Love your suggestions, you’ve got my creative juices flowing now!!!!! Will let you know what I end up with!

How about
SEO Home Gardeners. I love the first idea by Sophie really, where it is clear that home produce can be as great, if not better than the stuff you buy from the metaphorical stores.

This stands for “search engine organization”??
Janetti Spaghetti says
It does indeed, sorry Victoria, I should have explained!

Just letting you know how much I loved all your suggestions … I’ve ended up going with DIY SEO Headquarters (membership), to be abbreviated to DIY SEO HQ. That will also help me rank well in Google for DIY SEO which is often searched! 😉
