And now it’s time for what you’ve all been waiting for (well Mr 26 and Miss 24 at any rate) – let’s dive into the latest edition of A Sentence A Day!
February – Nail night, having so much fun playing with my new gel nails kit and kaboodle AND my nails are actually starting to get longer!
February – A lovely rainy day, and a catchup over coffee with some clients.
February – All the kids landed at our house for fish and chips takeaway for dinner.
February – Mr 26 was scheduled for lasik eye surgery (last pic in glasses below!) and the husbear was going to take him; but my father-in-law ended up in ICU after a cardiac arrest, so I took our son to his appointment instead while the husbear raced off to be with his parents.
February – It’s times like these I particularly love working from home, as I was able to take care of our son (he is staying with us for the first few days after his surgery). He needs drops every hour, and the light hurts his eyes even when they are closed – hence the blanket over his head!
February – We headed up to Toowoomba to see my father-in-law and stayed the night.
February – Caught up with some relatives before the two hour drive home.
February – I had a meeting with a client near the city, and was quite close to where my own parents live. After the events off the last few days I really wanted to see them and we had a lovely lunch together at a local cafe. Check out this interesting “garden ornament” I saw outside one house!
February – The ignition was broken in our old station wagon so it was towed to the mechanic and fixed.
February – First day with my new part-time team member! She’s doing 5 hours a week at this stage.
February – I had a great meeting with another local digital marketing business owner today, to discuss ways we could potentially work together. I particularly loved hearing about her business journey, and how she came to have two full time staff members and now a part-timer – could this be where my business will be in 5 years’ time?!
February – Networking lunch with Bayside Women in Business, had a great time even if it was very hot and sticky (the air con really wasn’t coping!).
February – Feeling a bit blue, so the husbear took me out to the shops where we got some Chinese for lunch; he also bought me some roses for Valentine’s Day (who cares if it’s a day early!).
February – I got out the sewing machine and did some mending and alterations. Husbear and I started watching ‘The Good Place’ on Netflix – but I’ve already blogged about that!
February – Started the week off right with a morning walk.
February – Another great session with my favourite PT, out on our deck (love her motto: burpees suck!).
February – Family fun time, with a trip to the Circus! Unfortunately Mr 26’s better half was on call so couldn’t join us.
February – Another great networking event, this time with Women’s Network Australia.
February – Meeting at the offices of one of my tradie clients. We started working together in the middle of Covid last year, so this is the first time we’ve actually met!
February – A lovely day hanging out with the kids, including a trip to get some goodies to create a cheese board!
February – Love a sleep in on a Sunday! This is the view from our bed.
February – With all that’s been going on (lots of work, the husbear back and forth to Toowoomba because of his Dad’s health), I’ve gotten out of the habit of going for morning walks so was very happy to put my walking shoes on again this morning.
February – I’m hosting a webinar on SEO Basics for Business tomorrow and while preparing, realised my tech wasn’t up to the job, so I now have a new webcam.
February – They say that you get a lot of “no-shows” at free events, especially webinars, but I was gratified to have a great turnout. Was also very glad to have my part-timer there to take care of the tech side of things so I could concentrate on my presentation!
February – Started the 1500 piece puzzle I received for my birthday – think this one could take a while, but I’m up for the challenge!
February – Business is clearly getting back into the swing of things after the December/January lull – my phone rang constantly today.
February – The husbear was in Toowoomba for a couple of days, he came home with some roses from his parents’ garden, they smell so much better than bought ones.
February – Sunday vibes … Mr 26 came over and hung out with us and I folded a mountain of washing.
Ahhhh February, it’s all a bit of a blur to be honest. Being only 28 days, the end of the month arrived way too soon for the amount of work that I needed to complete for my clients! Plus this month we discovered the truth of the term, the “Sandwich Generation”, as we found ourselves spread thin and caught between the needs of ageing parents, and trying to keep up with our wonderful kidults!
Here’s hoping March is a better, more relaxed month …
What was the highlight of your February?!
