Woohoo! Winter has gone and Spring has sprung here in Bris-Vegas. The days are getting longer and warmer; and I love the smell of jasmine and mock orange blossoming (though I know some find it overpowering, and it’s not great for allergies).
September – First day of the work week; first day of September; first day of Spring. I finished my latest jigsaw puzzle of a tranquil Japanese garden.

September – Usual work day; in the evening I made Chettinaw Chicken for dinner.
September – I won the Golden Mic at BNI for best 60 second presentation! Later in the day I was meant to do a live interview on Instagram with my social media manager Hannah, to talk about the latest changes in the world of SEO and social media. Unfortunately Instagram was NOT cooperating, so in the end we recorded the interview on Zoom and uploaded it later.

September – Good news on the work front – found out I’m conducting an SEO workshop in February for the Brisbane Business Hub!
September – I had a coffee meeting at Wellington Point Farmhouse, such a great spot!

September – Enjoyed the annual Riverfire fireworks exploding over the city and the Brisbane River.

September – Father’s Day! We caught up with my Dad last weekend as he had surgery during the week and is now recovering at home; so it was all about the husbear. I gave him a tin of shortbread with one of his favourite classic cars on it.
September – Monday night Netflix – watched “The Thursday Night Murder Club” which we absolutely loved. Not often you see a movie where all the main characters are 60+!
September – My new glucose monitor arrived – I took advantage of a trial offer of two weeks for $15. I’m pre-diabetic so thought it would be really helpful to find out how different foods affect my blood glucose levels.

September – Feel like a new woman after a trip to the hairdresser!

September – Optometrist appointment, as I’m fed up with having a dozen pairs of cheap reading glasses of different strengths and never being able to find the ones I want! (You might have noticed in photos that I often have a pair perched on top of my head like sunglasses). The bad news is, I don’t just need one pair of multifocals – I need two. One for computer / close work and the others (the ones with the red frames) for driving and out and about. I’m getting transition lenses so they’ll replace my sunglasses as well.

September – Tried out a new networking group today – We Rise networking at the Smug Fig cafe at Stones Corner. The speaker runs four – or is it five – successful businesses? I’m flat out running just one!!!! The husbear did the grocery shopping after work and brought me these beautiful roses.

September – Our lovely daughter-in-law had a birthday this week! To celebrate we went to an Escape Room where we had to solve a case involving some stolen jewels in order to “escape” … we made a great team (which is my way of saying I was pretty useless at it, but there was one clue that was in some puzzle blocks, and guess who worked that one out!).

September – Headed over to our island getaway for a couple of days. I finished this puzzle of Yoda, which was really tricky, it’s taken me ages to complete it!

September – It’s Monday but we’re still on Coochie, I brought my laptop over so I could do some work after a lovely sleep in. In the afternoon we went fishing before heading home after dinner.

September – A sample of my blood sugar level monitoring shows it’s under control … however it isn’t always! A cocktail on the weekend followed by a pasta meal (full of sugar and carbs) sent it well above normal range, so lesson learned!

September – Went to the movies after work to see “The Conjuring: Last Rites” … don’t know how but the husbear got me into these horror movies! And, I had my first mango of the season, which was a bit tart to be honest.

September – Went to the local Key Business Network as a sub for a friend, very interesting learning about the latest in AI, plus I bought a book called “Support Our Healing” by one of the members.

September – Made another recipe from the Glucose Goddess – this yummy feta and cherry tomato omelette for breakfast!

September – Visited my sister on the other side of town and spent some time beachcombing at Scarborough. I’d heard it was a good for finding sea glass – and it was!

September – The husbear brought me a snack LOL – zucchini slice with Twisties sticking out of it. He makes me laugh every day!

September – The husbear brought home a surprise for me – a gaming console of “old school” games – think Pacman, Space Invaders, etc. He knows how much I love these old arcade games from the 80’s!

September – Great session with some of the DIY SEO HQ members online.

September – Stopped at the park after my BNI meeting and filmed some content for my business social media … if you’re not yet following I’d love it if you did. I’m at 985 followers on my Front Page SEO Instagram, keen to crack the 1000 mark!!!

September – Another networking meeting! This time, Common Grounds Women in Business, at New Farm, a monthly event.

September – Happy Fur-riday from Fleur! Seeing as I’m such a big jigsaw puzzle fan, of course we had to watch the new Netflix film “Puzzle” with an apple and blackberry tart for dessert.

September – Visited the kids and played some video games including Wii Golf.
September – Stumbled across one of our favourite movies on TV so we couldn’t resist watching it (for about the 1000th time!).

September – Put the sprinkler on the back yard as the lawn is so dry, we haven’t had rain for weeks.
September – Business networking again! Tonight I headed into the city for a dinner held by The Marketing Club.

And that’s a wrap for September. I do hope you’ve enjoyed this latest edition of A Sentence A Day!
