May was pretty marvellous, if I do say so myself π …
May – Not a good start to the month – I forgot to write down my sentence for the day!
May -It’s “casual Friday” at Front Page SEO! I try to cluster client meetings, training etc in the middle of the week, so I can take it a bit easier get some deep work done on Mondays and Fridays. Also it’s noteworthy because it’s the first time it’s been cool enough to wear jeans and a jumper this year! Winter is on the way …
May – I finished off the book I’ve been making for the husbear, for our 35th wedding anniversary. It’s in the style of A Sentence A Day, but instead a sentence or two a year about the highlights of our marriage, along with a photo or two.
May – We went to the Oz Feline Fair and Catstravaganza – my gorgeous hubby even made our custom cat t-shirts featuring Fleur and Seth! Afterwards we checked into an apartment in Queen’s WharfΒ in the CBD for our anniversary (which is tomorrow, fortunately it’s a public holiday for Labour Day!). Our apartment was wayyyy up high (I forget what floor, 60-something?!).
May – Happy anniversary to us! The husbear loved his handmade memory book. We made the most of our hotel, with a swim and sauna before having breakfast at Jimmy’s on the Mall (about the only place that was open due to the public holiday!).
May – Back to work …
May – Feeling a bit meh today. Doing the monthly reporting for our clients, and April is always a bit of a “down” month stats-wise due to the many public holidays, so that had a lot to do with it.
May – Watched “The Secret DNA of Us” on SBS and enjoyed a Chinese takeaway.
May – Took the day off work and headed up to Caloundra, we stayed at the Grand Pacific Resort on Bulcock Beach. Grey skies and rain didn’t stop us having fun, we had gelato and went for a big beach walk.
May – Overcast and rainy but we still managed some serious sea glass hunting at Shelley Beach in the morning, before heading to the Sandstone Point Hotel for the Red Hot Summer tour after lunch – main act, ZZ Top, a favourite of ours since the 80s! We ended up completely drenched but once ZZ Top came on it was worth it π … though I don’t think we’ll be going to another outdoor concert again!
May – We took my Dad and stepmum out for lunch at the Pig’N’Whistle, for Mother’s Day and also for my Dad’s birthday.
May – Happy birthday to my Dad (82) and our son (31)! Where does the time go?!
May – I’m the Secretary/Treasurer for my BNI chapter this year and was struggling with keeping the books, so spent over three hours with a bookkeeper to sort things out. We got there in the end!
May – Major tech issues with my computer which was frustrating and annoying.
May – Still having tech issues, I’d booked into a webinar which I was really excited about, in the end I had to join with my laptop.
May – Fortunately the husbear was able to sort out my IT issues last night! I finished work early for Friday arvo drinks with my BNI crew at the Story Bridge Hotel … pictured here with the other marketers in the chapter!
May – Went to Capalaba Library for a change of pace (I normally go to Cleveland) and they have a jigsaw puzzle exchange – awesome! I got a couple of new tops from Target. Really missing Katies, Rivers, Rockmans and Millers now they’ve all closed. I wonder how long it will be before other stores pop up to fill this gap in the market?
May – Did you notice I didn’t mention receiving a gift from the husbear for our anniversary? 35 years is apparently the “coral” anniversary and he’d looked everywhere for some coral jewellery without success. Then we saw an ad on Facebook for a jewellery stall at our local markets and guess what? They had coral!!! Love my new coral earrings. In the evening we went out for dinner to celebrate our son’s birthday.
May – My favourite lipstick had a 3 for the price of 2 sale, and they arrived today. Score!!!
May – The husbear and I did a grocery shop after work at Aldi.
May – BNI and afterwards I had 121 with the digital marketer in the chapter. One of the things I love about BNI is that I learn so much from other members who are further ahead in the business journey than I am π .
May – Signed up a new client so celebrated with a pear cider (it’s my little tradition) after work.
May – Friday night movie night – we watched something on Netflix (can’t remember) and I made zucchini slice for dinner.
May – Afternoon tea at Dad and June’s along with my brother and sister-in-law.
May – ?
May – After several rainy weeks the weather was beautiful today. Check out this cool vapour trail in the sky …
May – The husbear worked from home so we started the day with brekky on the deck. In the afternoon the skies look stormy from my office but it didn’t turn into anything.
May – I won the lucky door prize at BNI today! Love books π
May – My second visit to the Common Grounds Women in Business Network at the Powerhouse in New Farm. I’m getting braver about wearing my white hat when I’m at networking events!
May – The husbear does a lot more cooking than I do these days, so I was treated to home-made sausage rolls for dinner. BEST. SAUSAGE. ROLLS. EVER!!!!
May – You may have already seen my blog post about our downsizing dreams; today we went and had a look at a couple of apartments in South Bank, to get a feel for what’s available and what we are particularly looking for. Afterwards we had churros! (Yep, sometimes I lash out, even with my high protein low carb diet. Must admit my tummy usually complains afterwards!)
And that’s a wrap for the merry month of May … see you next month!
