Gah! Can’t believe it’s nearly the end of July and I haven’t shared my JUNE happenings with you yet!
I thought about just letting it slide, but didn’t want to ruin my track record.
It turns out this is an even more long-standing habit than I realised. I thought it must be about five years but I checked, and next month it’s actually SEVEN YEARS since I started with this little “Sentence A Day” experiment, back when I was blogging over at middleagedmama.com.au.
Of course these days I realise that it’s usually MORE than a sentence a day; it’s usually a couple of sentences, plus a photo. Which takes up more time but hopefully makes it more interesting for you, the reader. I know it’s also quite valuable for me, I love being able to track when and where certain things happened!
So let’s the wind the clock back almost two months to the end of May, when we returned home from our holiday in Cairns and Port Douglas with an unwanted souvenir: Covid!
June – A quiet day at home as we are both sick, weย watched 3 movies on Netflix.
June – The husbear is feeling better, but I slept most of the day (Sunday). By late afternoon we were both experiencing cabin fever, so drove down to Wellington Point to watch the sunset. Didn’t realise how popular an outing this was, couldn’t believe how many people were there with the same idea!
June – Hmm I think Seth likes our new “fireplace” heater.
June – My Dad had surgery on his ankle the day we flew to Cairns, unfortunately it’s taking longer to heal than expected and he is still in hospital. As we haven’t been able to visit due to our Covid germs, we sent him some flowers instead to help cheer him up and my stepmum sent us this lovely pic ๐ .
June – Finally over Covid so back in work mode, including a coffee meeting with a local client.
June – We popped in to our daughter’s after work and I joined her for some relaxing colouring.
June – Oh dear, I feel like I’m getting sick again with a sniffly nose and sore throat.
June – Saturday so I was able to rest. Wanna kick these germs to the kerb!!! The husbear made us a wonderful BBQ breakfast.
June – I did a bit of shopping and bought a couple of mats for the kitchen. Looks like Seth approves!
June – I’ve been eating low carb since January and have lost several kilos. Today I noticed a massive benefit – it’s a lot easier to put socks on when my belly doesn’t get in the way!
June – Bad news, Dad is still in hospital and requires another operation ๐ .
June – Highlight of my day? Getting highlights in my hair!
June – Caught up with another client for a meeting in person.
June – Just a regular work day, but I had to stop work early due to developing rotten hay fever. Ah-choo!
June – We visited my Dad in hospital.
June – At Coochiemudlo Island. We went fishing at sunset (high tide).
June – Finished my latest puzzle – a scene from the Greek island of Santorini, which we visited on our 25th wedding anniversary!
June – How cute is this pic of Fleur on her cat stand out on the deck ๐ .
June – A busy day of business networking – BNI in the morning, catch up with my website developer in the afternoon at Wellington Point Farm, and After Dark network in the evening.
June – Horribly smoky today as they were back burning in preparation for fire season. Thank goodness for antihistamines!
June – Went fishing late and we caught lots of bream!
June – The husbear was kept busy filleting all the fish we caught last night while I worked on my latest puzzle.
June – Lovely morning at the South Bank markets with our son and his wife, before visiting my Dad in hospital.
June – Watched “Red Notice” on Netflix after work.
June – Made baked apple stuffed with dates for dessert. Yummy!!
June – Caught up with Miss 28 for a coffee after my BNI meeting as I was in the neigbourhood. We did a li’l photoshoot so I have lots of content for my socials over the next month or two while she is overseas. She’s a great photographer don’t you think?!
June – This is what happens when I leave my office – Fleur has taken over my seat! Went to the dentist in the afternoon, not my favourite thing to do – though I do like that clean and polished teeth feeling afterwards ๐ .
June – Another movie on Netflix after work, this time called “Red Eye”.
June – The husbear and I went for a bushwalk and stopped for a cup of tea.
June – We went out to do a bit of sea glass hunting and a cheeky Macca’s run when our daughter dropped in.
And there endeth the month of June 2024, which is also the end of financial year here in Australia so there’s a bit of work associated with that as I’m sure you can imagine.
Not too long now and you’ll be reading all about my July as it’s the 30th as I hit “publish” on this post!!!!!
